Blog Post 5: Changes to My Study Programme

 This is my last year studing Theatre. It was a long process, I took a year for myself in the middle and then, when I came back, there was another career curriculum, that made me add one more year of studies. The english course for example, was not on the original curriculum, so I had to take all the classes in a row. The career is divided by 4 central areas: body expression/movement, vocal expression, acting and theory. In my experience, the area that captivated me the most was body expression, I feel that I could improve a lot and discover a lot of thibgs about myself in the process. The area that was the hardest for me was theory. I never studied art theory before university, I only had taken theatre courses at my school. But luckily, I could adapt and focus on studing and passing the tests. The faculty of theatre is located on Morandé 750, where only two careers take place: Theatrical Acting and Theatrical Design. Time travel to the past

 If i had to make the decision to travel to the past or future, i prefer traveling to the past.  Currently, the world has advanced to a more artificial place, with more garbage, and without natural places. I dont like this, and i don’t have much hope of change in the behavior of humans. For this reason i prefer traveling to the past.  Specifically to the 70´s. i like this decade for many reasons. One is for the music, if i travel to the 70´s i could listen to artists that i really like at their best moment. I could go to a concerts of: Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, Bob Marley, Queen, Chavela Vargas, and many more. Also in Chile in beginning of the 70´s i could see the project of Allende and how was the workers arrival to power. What came after with the coup was terrible but the first years (1970-1971) i have been told that they were beautiful and full of hope. My dream job

Currently i study acting, i only have this semester left to finish, but my dream job it's not being actor. I like all the arts and I am always dreamming about new projects in different areas, but in the last years there is one in specific that i really like: filmmaking, and my dream job would being a film director. Since i was child i remember playing with cameras, when i was 12 years old with my sister Cote and my friend Carlos, made a music video, a cover of " Love the Way You Lie", i was the director, camera and editor, my sister and my friend were Rihanna and Eminem. We really enjoyed that experience, but then I moved to Santiago to enter high school, and I no longer had camera to continue experimenting. In high school i met theatre, i loved it and i was good at it, so i decided to professionalize myself in that. My best concert

The best concert i attended to was in 2015 in Santiago. It was a festival that supported the legalization of weed, the "legalize festival". I specially wanted to see the band SKP, because they announced their retirement and it was going to be their last presentation in Chile. Also there were national music groups that i liked very much: Los Jaivas, Portavoz, Jorge González, Chico Trujillo. That was Jorge González's last concert before he got sick, i feel very lucky that i could listen to his music. Also there was Deep Purple, a legendary rock band, but i didn't listen to their music very often. The surprise for me was: The wailers and Julian Marley, Bob Marley's original band were he played with his son. I never listened to reggae, but after that show y started to listen reggae and now i like it a lot. I had a great time that day. A Subject Enjoyed in this semester: Didactics of theatre

  This Subject named Didactics of theatre. In this subject we study pedagogic strategys to make theatre classes. The teacher show theorical referents that talk about the teaching of theatre, then to practice this theories in trainings and meetings with other students. We too talk about what we think important for the inclusion of scenic arts in the school curriculum.   I’m very interesting in this theme, because last semester I wrote the thesis about theatre like an alternative of emotional education on schools of Chile, and having this subject later of writing this was a good coincidence. The teacher is good listener, and treat us like the same, this makes study in more detail the ideas in class. I participated guiding theatre classes, and in the future I like to work as a teacher, in schools or other spaces. This subject has give me many tools for this future, now I feel more confident because I read many new authors and studied different dynamics and theorical fundaments and

Free/themed Post: Growing a plant.

 All persons have to grow a plant one time in our life. Is an activity that nurtures the soul, that make us connected with our ancestors, and too with a live less absorbed to technology. I Recommended start from cero. In first place, you have to choose the seed, that be of you pleasure; can be a tree, a flower, a succulent, a tuber, a vine, or a cactus, there is much for selection. Think about the plant that when child always called your attention, this always is the suitable. Then come the moment to investigate what ground is suitable. In a flowerpot stand or directly on ground, is very important that plant feel at home, to grow healthy and strong (like happens with anybody living being). When you immerse your finger in the wet ground to plant the seed, you traveling to the past, a lot of years back, when the drugstores and the supermarkets grew in our backyards. ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES.

Studying english is a very difficult challenge for me. In high school I did not learn much, and in elementary school I didn’t have English classes. When I enter to study at the university, in Theatre the English subject didn’t exist. Then, I paused my studies for one year, and when I returned the career’s curriculum was changed, and now existed 4 english subjects that I have to take. The last semester I had to take English II, this subject was online,   was a good experience. In the start, I did not understand much English, but then I learned a little. Being in the computer made me feel a little more safe speaking English, and this helped me. This year was on-site class, that add difficult and I was insecure speaking English in public. First, I feeled I was learning, but then the process was very interrupted. I had to miss class for work, the the teacher suspend, then because of the COVID, and then the strike. I think this cut my process and make it hard focus in the subject 100%.
